About Us
Don and Frank Edgecombe opened this excellent winery in the 1920s and the legacy continues, with this family-run business still thriving today. Whether you are after some refreshing, delicious wine from a family who knows their stuff, some tasty food or some local estate-grown produce including our world famous asparagus, broad beans, preserves and jam, Edgecombe is a necessary stop on your travels through the Swan Valley. In summer months, sit outside in the alfresco area, basking in the beautiful view and glorious Swan Valley sun. In winter cosy up to our warm log fire and enjoy our belly warming Muscat or Fortified Shiraz. The Edgecombe Bros vineyard is located on 50 acres of beautiful, natural Australian land in the Swan Valley. Within the vineyard there is a natural wetland, Lake Yakine, which is Nyungah for Tortoise Dreaming lake. The Nyungah are the Aboriginal people of the Perth and Swan Valley area. This name and the population of Western Swamp Long-necked Tortoises is what gives Edgecombe its logo, used on the labels of all the wine sold at the cellar door, the fresh estate produce and even the t-shirts our staff wear. If it's a lucky day, patrons of the restaurant may even catch a glimpse of the tortoises moving through the water or sunning themselves on the bank.
